A few weeks ago, I had the incredible opportunity to volunteer at the Arnold Palmer Invitational! It was a day filled with excitement and new experiences as I got to be part of the PGA Tour and immerse myself in this iconic event. From assisting with the checkin to interacting with fans, every moment was memorable. I'm immensely grateful for my Introduction to Sport Business class at the University of Central Florida for opening doors to such amazing opportunities

Did you know that you can make a career out of golf and get your business degree at the same time? That's right! But don't ask us about it. Ask Brayden Kelley, a Senior in the PGA Golf Management Program at University of Colorado Colorado Springs, about his experience and turn your passion into a career. #WeLoveThisGame

What have you done out of the ordinary to reward your team? I help companies design and coordinate memorable experiences as incentives and rewards. The Masters, Kentucky Derby, All-Inclusive beach vacations and more. But I’m often asked, “what’s your favorite” or “what’s the most unusual trip you’ve done.”I’m a golfer, thus Augusta is always on the list, but here’s what I want you to understand:The experience isn’t about me…..and it’s not about you. It’s about those who EARNED IT! If you’re looking for something out of the ordinary, look no further than the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. The event is arguably the best time you can have in Vegas. And you don’t have to be a cowboy or cowgirl to enjoy it. I arrange meet and greets, barn tours, and exclusive experiences around the NFR that even a golfer like me thoroughly enjoys. Can you imagine your team in boots and hats for a night or two having the time of their life? #bucketlistlivingwithbradnorwood #incentives #funatwork

High-end experiential can make for a very sharp tip of your company's marketing spear. There is a meaningful difference between your clients walking away saying 'I had a great time at the golf outing' and 'I had a great time at x company's event.' #eventmarketing #sportsmarketing #sportsbiz

Leaders have their trusted data sources that are used to monitor the business’ performance. These systems vary in timeliness, maturity and robustness based on the organization’s commitment to information, but they are generally reliable and consistent.Where do you go when the situation changes, and you need new information or something more specialized than you have today?Take, for example, this years 123rd installment of the US Open played at Los Angeles Country Club (LACC).Many of the players had never played here before. The Club is very exclusive, and has not hosted an event since the 2017 Walker Cup.Wyndham Clark, fresh off his first tour win last month at Quail Hollow Club, had an idea to get some information that few other players would have access to.He called his good friend and LACC member to see if he would caddie for him on a practice round at the Club. His friend agreed, and they figured out how to get on to play the course that had already been closed to member play in advance of the championship. In the round, Wyndham and his regular caddie were able to get “local knowledge“ of the course. This paid off big when Wyndham ground to a 1-shot victory over the field that included Scottie Scheffler (World #1) and Rory McIlroy (4-time major winner) chasing him late into the evening on Sunday. Today, the conversation for many businesses executives is the evolving needs of their employees. It feels like we are chasing an answer that keeps changing.Believe it or not, the needs of your employees are fairly consistent and can be measured. You just need to find a partner like Birkman, who can get the “local knowledge” that can help you win. #usopen #leadership #employeeneedsUnited States Golf Association (USGA) Birkman

So I’m a terrible golfer or should I say, “I’m an improving golfer?”Yesterday, I had the great pleasure of playing in RECSA's annual golf tournament at The Club At Sonterra. And while I can run an ultramarathon and swim for miles, I had some challenges hitting a perfectly static ball that I had tee’ed up.Heck, I even selected the club and decided when and how to swing… and yet, at times I completely whiffed it.A fan of Ryan Holiday and his interpretations of stoic philosophy, I’m reminded that what we tell ourselves matters.Rather than saying, “I don’t speak Spanish,” say “I’m learning to speak…”One is final, the other cultivates learning and invites others to help. The golf tournament was much more than hitting par.My key takeaways when learning new things included:1.Be humble2.Surround yourself with experts3.Absorb advice4.Adapt – keep what works and throw away what doesn’t5.It’s the journey, not the destination that matters. It’s not about golf or "xyz" activity. For more on this, check out “The Obstacle is the Way” by Ryan Holiday. If you’re an improving or an expert golfer and you’re in the San Antonio area, feel free to DM me.Let’s hit some balls or play a round.I’d love the opportunity to improve.Commonwealth Commercial Partners, LLCReal Estate Council of San Antonio (RECSA)Buddy Parsons, JD, MBA#commercialrealestate #golf #ccim #SanAntonio #improvement #stoicism #trailrunning #RECSA
